XIAMEN Airlines (XiamenAir) will introduce new direct flights from Cebu to two destinations in China.

The Department of Foreign Affairs (DFA) -- quoting Xiamen Air Travel General Manager Deng Dongtao -- on Tuesday said XiamenAir will launch new routes from Cebu to Fuzhou and Quanzhou in 2017, adding to its existing Xiamen-Cebu flights.

“Mr. Deng officially announced that Xiamen Air will launch new routes including Fuzhou-Cebu and Quanzhou-Cebu in 2017,” the DFA said in its statement.

The Chinese carrier re-opened the Xiamen-Cebu route in March 2016.

In 2016, XiamenAir flew 3.6 million passengers with a gross income of RMB 460 million and net income of RMB 22 million.
